講義�@「文法の発見学習：文法ルールは生徒が作る、それを使って作文する!?」

　文法指導を英語でするってムリと思っていませんか。説明を英語ですれば教師にも生徒にも負担になるのは当たり前。関係代名詞(relative pronoun)と口にした途端、生徒はそっぽを向いてしまうでしょう。ガラリと発想を変えて、生徒がルールを発見する主体となって教師がその手助けをする、そんな授業は不可能でしょうか。本講義では、生徒が文法を発見する主役となる文法指導に実験的に挑戦したいと思います。さらにその授業をリフレクトすると何かが見えてくるかもしれません。キーワードは’process & product’。

講義�A「Exploring EFL literacy in elementary school: What will best prepare students for junior high and beyond?」

　Foreign language learning as an official subject has started in primary schools throughout Japan, and efforts are being made to help Japanese students develop foundations for lifelong intercultural communication competency. Literacy, the ability to read and write, is one aspect of the MEXT curriculum, but many are still uncertain as to what should be focused on, and to what extent. In this lecture, we will explore what can be done during six years of elementary school in terms of developing foundations for future success in literacy development in junior high and beyond. From phonics and sight words to sentence writing, and then even onto authoring original digital books, examples of literacy related activities used by this researcher will be introduced and discussed.
