Providing opportunities for local residents to learn and connect with each other is one of our core missions.<\/p>\n<h4>Community Collaboration<\/h4>\n<p>We actively collaborate with local communities. In partnership with the City of Chigasaki and the Chigasaki Junior Chamber, the institute hosts citizen deliberative forums, where participants selected by random sampling engage in discussions. Through this practice of deliberative democracy, citizens\u2019 voices are directly reflected in regional development.<\/p>\n<h4>Research and Networking<\/h4>\n<p>The institute recruits research fellows to promote projects that contribute to regional studies and community revitalization. Acting as a key point of contact between the university and society, we build networks with local governments, businesses, and civic organizations.
