二世移民を含む11人の研究論文から成る本書は、アラブ湾岸諸国において、世代の異なる多様な移民グループのトランスナショナル性に焦点を当て、移民たちの複数の帰属意識、志向性、適応戦略がどのように形成されてきたかを解明する。その上で、アラブ湾岸諸国の市民権政策や教育政策が、特に二世移民にどのような影響を及ぼしているのかを明らかにする。
